Nestled in the heart of Chesapeake, VA, Judy's Sichuan Cuisine is a culinary treasure that transports you straight to the vibrant streets of Sichuan, China. Specializing in authentic Sichuan Chinese food, this family-owned gem has become a beloved destination for those craving bold, fiery flavors paired with time-honored cooking traditions.
The menu offers a tempting array of dishes that celebrate the complexity and excitability of Sichuan cuisine. Start with refreshing cold dishes like the Sichuan Pickled Vegetables, which perfectly balance tang and spice, or the Steamed Chicken in Hot Chili Oil, a chilled delicacy that awakens the palate with its peanutty heat. For noodle lovers, the Sichuan Style Spicy Cold Noodles deliver a mouth-tingling experience, showcasing the signature numbing effect of Sichuan peppercorns that longtime patrons rave about.
Seafood is elevated to a new level here, with offerings such as the Fish Filets in Hot Chili Oil and Fish Filets with Black Bean Sauce that feature beautifully tender fish infused with layers of spice and savory depth. Soups and pots round out the menu with hearty comforts like the Hot & Sour Soup and the unique “West Lake” Style Beef Soup, each crafted to warm you from the inside out.
The dining atmosphere at Judy’s is both inviting and unpretentious. Ashley Tucker’s praise perfectly captures the experience: the wait to get a seat only builds anticipation for the “culinary magic” that follows. It’s easy to feel at home here, whether you’re enjoying a savory plate of pork dumplings paired with perfectly seasoned fried rice, or indulging in the popular wonton in chili oil dumplings, hailed for their bold flavors and tender texture.
What truly sets Judy’s apart is the flawless execution of spice. Zhigen Lin highlights how the “Sichuan peppercorn numbing effect was on point,” a testament to their dedication to authentic taste profiles. Judy’s also accommodates various dietary preferences; vegetarian diners like Sydney Aston praise the mouthwatering chili braised tofu, proving that the menu is thoughtfully diverse.
The service complements the food beautifully—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring each dish is served fresh and with care. LeAnn Phillips notes the efficient takeout service and laid-back vibe, making Judy’s not only ideal for a cozy dine-in experience but also a dependable choice for comforting meals at home.
In essence, Judy’s Sichuan Cuisine is more than a restaurant—it’s a passionate homage to Sichuan cooking, offering a genuine, full-bodied taste experience that keeps visitors returning time and again. Whether you're a local or a traveler seeking true Sichuan flavors, Judy’s warmly invites you to savor each bite like a welcoming hug from an old family friend.

Judy's never disappoints! Sure, you might have to wait for a table, but that's just extra time to build up an appetite for some grandma-level culinary magic. This family-owned gem serves up pork dumplings and fried rice so good, they make other meals feel like they're just trying too hard. Seriously, it's like your taste buds are getting a warm, delicious hug from Nana herself!

The food was delicious and the spice level was just right. The Sichuan peppercorn numbing effect was on point. Definitely will come back again.

Out of all the chinease places I've eaten, this has to be the best. I've traveled to China and this seems to be the most authentic yet. The service was great. They were making the wonton in chili oil dumplings next to us and the server said that was their most popular item. We ordered them and we were not disappointed. We also ordered the steamed dumplings and they were amazing. Other ordered included sesame chicken and spicy shrimp fried rice. The plumb wine is so delicious. I cant wait to come back again. They even packed my left overs for me

Judy’s is the best Chinese food you will ever have in Virginia, and I stand on that! It is worth every dollar and is my weekly takeout because of this, and the only place I trust to show to family or friends coming into town because they always deliver and have a wife range of options. I myself am vegetarian, and can honestly say the chili braised tofu is mouth watering and my favorite vice. The steamed veggie dumplings are my staple every order as well and I can’t praise them enough, or the pot stickers (which everyone in my life endorses)! You will never regret eating in or getting takeout but be warned they can get busy because they live up to the hype.

Another place that I have been wanting to go to; today was the day. It was a quiet atmosphere. There were a few customers inside. I see they do a booming take out service. I was seated promptly. Server asked what I wanted to drink; I got a soda and water. I ordered soup dumplings, scallion pancakes and shrimp lettuce wraps. Food came out as it was ready. The shrimp lettuce wraps is do it yourself. The shrimp was chopped and easy to spoon into the fresh lettuce. The scallion pancake was crispy and chewy. The soup dumplings were delicious. I will be back. Thanks so much.

Judy's is a family favorite and has never disappointed us. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is hands down the best in the region! I know after a long day I can count on Judy's bringing a smiles and a full belly to everyone in my family. There is sure to be something on the menu that will become your next favorite craving! My favorite is the Kung Pao and the dumplings which bring me back to the dumpling houses in California.

My parents took me to this location, I had never been to any Judy's before. The dumplings were great, and the general tsos chicken. I only didnt enjoy one dish, it takes an aquired taste. But my stepdad really liked it. Great atmosphere, very nice overall. Highly recommend!

This place came highly recommended so me and some friends decided to give them a try. This is definitely my new spot for real Chinese food. The wonton in chili oil, steamed dumpling and scallion pancakes were delightfully delicious. The smoked tea duck was nice and crispy without being overbearingly fatty. Give this place a try if you're looking for something different instead of traditional Chinese takeout.
